Thanks in advance for reading and respecting our submission guidelines:
Poetry – Please send us 1-4 poems for consideration, compiling all poems in a single document. Include a brief author bio as part of your cover letter.
Fiction & Nonfiction – Please send us a single work of fiction or nonfiction (4000-word max) for consideration. Excerpts from longer works or flash (non)fiction are welcome. Include a brief author bio as part of your cover letter.
“Prude Bruce Clause” – Please limit yourself to submitting work in just one (1) genre per reading period (i.e., either poetry, fiction, or nonfiction).
For Our Loyal Veterans – If your work was featured in a previous issue of NBR, feel free to continually submit. Show us once again just how brilliant you are!
Withdrawals – To withdraw a submission at any time during our reading periods, please do so here in Submittable. Simultaneous submissions are fine, yet kindly inform us ASAP if your work is accepted elsewhere.
*No reading fees – NBR is a labor of love, folks; we just want your words, so pony up!
